SPECIAL NOTICE CONCERNING COVID-19

To families, friends, staff and outside support agencies:

For over 20 years the Tower of Port Hope Retirement and staff have trained in current infection prevention and control practices and work hard every day to protect everyone from the spread of all types of infections and illnesses. Our number one priority is safety.

The Tower of Port Hope Retirement follows daily updates and awareness regarding COVID-19.   Since the morning of March 14, 2020, we have followed our outbreak protocol and stopped allowing all non-essential visitors into the Tower of Port Hope Retirement.  We have no known cases at this time. And we want to keep it that way.

As of June 18, 2020, we are allowing for non-essential visitors - only outside the building and these must be arranged in advance. Please refer to our VISITORS GUIDE that will outline all the necessary steps.

If there is an emergency or medical appointment and the resident needs to exit, we will coordinate this with the resident and the corresponding family.  Anyone entering the front door will be REQUIRED to pass a screening and will have to pass the same screening when they return If there are any concerns the resident may be quarantined for a period of time.  If the family needs to deliver essential personal or care items, there will be a bin in front of the main entrance, you can place the items inside. Staff will collect the items and place them in a secure room where the items will stay in quarantine for 3 days before being delivered to your loved one.

Please feel free to share this information to anyone that may be visiting us.  The more awareness, the better.

We understand these circumstances create worry and fear about loved ones and their well-being.  Feel free to call us at any time.  We are offering virtual visits and phone calls to help with the burden of being separated during this situation.

Let's all fight this together and STAY HOME, FLATTEN THE CURVE! Together We Can Win!
